The debut album from songwriter Scott Barker, "This Is Me" is one of those great records that only comes along every so often. Filled with songs that that can tug at your heart and put a dent in your soul. Classic, yet as fresh as the day is long. Tracks like "Swing Hard" and "One Time Around" use everyday things to create metaphors for life. The Jimmy Buffet inspired "Margarita My Way" will have you humming the melody for hours on end. Barker also shows his gospel side on "Preach On" and "The Mountain Is Tall", both tracks showing Scott's songwriting talent and motto: "One part Saturday night...One part Sunday morning". The hilarious "Wrong With You" is a rollicking track that sounds as though it could have been out in the 1930's. And the haunting "Back Here Again/In The Garden" is a must hear song that will leave you speechless. A truly timeless record.
